Eminem has opened up about his prescription drug addiction in the new documentary ‘How To Make Money Selling Drugs.’
The 40-year-old Detroit rapper gets candid admitting the he almost died during one overdose, “Had I got to the hospital about two hours later, I would have died,” Eminem said. “My organs were shutting down. My liver, kidneys, everything. They were gonna have to put me on dialysis, they didn’t think I was gonna make it…My bottom was going to be death.”
Eminem who addressed his drug use in his 2010 album Recovery, has admitted in the past to taking 10 to 20 Vicodin pills daily.
In the documentary, Eminem goes on to say that it was hard for him to realize he had a problem since he wasn’t abusing drugs like crack or heroin, “I don’t know what point exactly it started to be a problem, I just remember liking it more and more.”
As for people trying to help him with his addiction, like any addict Eminem said he would try to get rid of those people, “I would say, ‘Get that f**king person outta here, I can’t believe they said that shit to me,’” he recalled. “‘They don’t know nothing about my f**king life, are they out of their f**king mind? I’m not out there shooting heroin, I’m not out there putting coke up my nose, I’m not smoking crack … I literally thought I could control it.”
