Kate Couric Apologizes to Kim Kardashian, Says Gift Was Genuine

Katie Couric has apologized to Kim Kardashian after the reality star blasted her on social media calling her a “fake media friend.”

Kim posted a photo on Instagram of a gift that Couric sent to North West with the hashtags, “#IHateFakeMediaFriends” and “MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkSh-t.”

As for what Couric said, in a new interview with In Touch magazine she stated, “I don’t understand—why are they so famous?” she said referring to the Kardashians.

“I think it’s mostly teenage girls that are interested,” she continued.

Couric has apologized to Kim saying she meant no ill towards her, “I’ve met Kim before and I think she’s a really sweet person. I was responding to a reporter’s question, and explaining how I’m intrigued by the public’s fascinating with her family,” Couric said in a statement. “I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine and I’m happy for Kim and Kanye.”
