It looks like Beyonce Knowles is receiving support from her peers following backlash after she lip-synched the National Anthem on Monday (January 21) at President Obama‘s presidential inauguration ceremony.
The 31-year-old singer decided to use a “pre-recording” just before her scheduled live performance however Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Lopez and LeAnn Rimes are sticking up for Beyonce amidst the controversy.
“When I heard the news this evening that she was pre-recorded I really laughed,” Franklin told ABC News. “I thought it was funny because the weather down there was about 46 or 44 degrees and, for most singers, that is just not good singing weather. When I heard that, I just really cracked up. I thought it was really funny, but she did a beautiful job with the pre-record … next time, I’ll probably do the same.”
Lopez also defended Beyonce while making an appearance on ‘The Daily Show With Jon Stewart,’ “In certain venues and stuff, they do prerecord things, because you’re going to have that terrible slapback,” she said. “All performers do have to do it at some point.”
As for Rimes, “I’m actually taking up for her on this one,” she said while appearing on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.’ “There are times when people will ask you to do it, and they will not let you [appear] unless you do it because they want control over what happens.”
LeAnn Rimes has checked into a treatment facility to battle emotional issues.
The singer checked in on Wednesday (August 29) in hopes of learning to cope with her stress and anxiety.
“LeAnn has voluntarily entered a 30 day in-patient treatment facility to cope with anxiety and stress,” her rep Marcel Pariseau tells PEOPLE.
“While there will be speculation regarding her treatment, she is simply there to learn and develop coping mechanisms. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
Rimes also released a statement herself explaining why she is entering treatment, ”This is just a time for me to emotionally check out for a second and take care of myself and come back in 30 days as the best 30-year-old woman I can be,” she says.
“All the things in my life will be there when I get out, but you know what? I’m hoping they’re not going to affect me as much,” she adds. “I’ll have the tools to know how to deal with them.”
Showing off her bikini body, LeAnn Rimes enjoyed a day off on vacation on Sunday (July 15) in Los Angeles, CA.
The 29-year-old singer pranced around in two different bikinis while enjoying the pool with some girlfriends and husband, Eddie Cibrian.
“This is the most relaxed I’ve been in a while. The lake is for sure my vacation spot. I sit on the end of the dock all day. The boys are in heaven….big ones and little ones. Love it when everyone’s at peace with nothing but smiles on their faces,” LeAnn tweeted.
