We all know department stores have some brilliant beauty buys but drugstores have some awesome beauty products as well and they actually work.
From dry shampoo, to mascara, to concealer, I’ve rounded up my favorite drugstore beauty buys.
The best thing about all my favourite drugstore beauty buys? They ring in under $20! Total bargain. Now you can feel gorgeous without breaking the bank.
So without further adieu, here is my list of favourite drugstore beauty buys under $20. (To shop each item, click the bolded name of each product).
Dove/Batiste Dry Shampoo: If I was stranded on a deserted island and could only have three things, dry shampoo would definitely be on my list. I cannot live without dry shampoo. I tried many dry shampoos but Dove and Batiste are definitely my favourites. I alternate between the two, Dove is a little cheaper than Bastiste but both smell amazing and leave my hair feeling fresh.
Ardell Lashes: Definitely a must-have in my makeup bag. I used to spend $15 for a pair of MAC faux lashes until I discovered Ardell lashes. They’re a fraction of the cost but still help make my eyes pop. My favourite pair is the #120 demi, very natural looking.
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara: This is by far my favourite mascara of all time. I have tested many mascaras and this one takes the cake. I love how it coats my lashes and how it makes them look voluminous.
Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer: I love Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage to conceal my under eye circles but I also love Maybelline’s Age Rewind concealer. Not only does this product instantly create refreshed looking eyes but it also has great coverage. I love the easy-to-use sponge applicator and I love how it blends easily. I also use the concealer for daytime contouring.
Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo: I used to be obsessed with MAC Paint Pots until I discovered Maybelline’s Eye Studio Tattoo. It’s a great dupe and it’s a lot cheaper. I use the colour Barely Branded from the brand’s Metal Cream collection as a primer for my eyes. It’s a great base and makes my eyeshadow stay on all day.
Revlon Lip Gloss: I was truly disappointed when I found out that Revlon discontinued my favourite lip colour of all time, Peach Petal from their Super Lustrous collection. Revlon has some great colours and if you’re looking for a nudish-pink alternate then try the brand’s Bellini lip gloss.
Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream: During the week I usually wear BB cream and after testing many different brands, Revlon’s PhotoReady BB cream is my favourite. It has great colour coverage and blends easily. I also noticed that unlike other drugstore BB creams that oxidize two shades darker than my original skin tone, this one actually stays true to my skin tone.
Glammies, what are some of your favourite drugstore beauty buys? I would love to know, please share in comments.
