Now that that this cold weather is dying down it’s time to get rid of that dry winter skin and prepare your lips for the summer.
Instead of buying those expensive lip scrubs try making one at home with these ingredients that I am sure you all have in your kitchen.
My recommendation, use the lips scrub once or twice a week depending how dry your lips are.
1 tbs of brown sugar
1 tbs of honey
1 tsp of coconut oil
Instructions: Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until it becomes a past-like substance. Once you’re done you can now put it in a container and keep it in room temperature or you can keep in the fridge. When I first made this, I kept mine in the fridge, then the scrub hardened and it was hard to scoop out however it is up to you.
Instructions for use: Take a small amount (a dime size) of the scrub and massage it in circles on your lips for one minute. Leave it on for a few seconds after you massage it so that your lips can absorb the moisture from the coconut oil and honey. Next, wet a small cloth and and gently take off the scrub. Voilà! Your lips are now luscious and dry skin free.
Hope you enjoy this homemade lip scrub brought to you by yours truly :-)
Winter, it’s an interesting time for skin and I loathe the season for a few reasons and one of them is because my hands become super dry.
I know the winter season is coming as soon as my hands start cracking and it’s sometimes quite painful and very unattractive. For those of you who don’t know olive oil is one of the best natural cures for cracked hands and cuticles.
I am going to walk you through a step-by-step DIY hot olive oil hand treatment that you can do yourself at home (all the items needed can be found in your kitchen) to help bump up your skins natural oils and get rid of your old-lady-looking hands.
Your hands will thank you for this! Now let’s get started.
We all know chamomile tea will lighten your hair, now you can fake your tan with black tea. This homemade self tanner is an easy recipe and it won’t harm your skin cell’s DNA.
First you will need 3/4 cups of water, 3 teabags (black tea), 1/4 cup of lanolin and 1/4 cup of sesame oil.
First boil the water and use it to steep the teabags until the color turns strong. Then put 1/4 cup of the tea in a blender with the lanolin and sesame oil. Blend everything at low speed and slowly input the rest of the tea while still blending. Once you are done, take a sponge and start applying it on your body. Wait for the tea to completely dry on your body before dressing as it will stain.
