Smashbox SHAPEMATTERS Palette Review, Photos & Swatches

Smashbox SHAPEMATTERS Palette Review and Swatches | Vicky B. TV

Happy September my loves! I am so excited to be reviewing the new Smashbox SHAPEMATTERS palette for you guys. I got this palette for my birthday last month and I have so many positive things to say about it.

The reason I wanted this palette was because it wasn’t just an eyeshadow palette, it was a complete kit 3-in-1 palette that comes with contouring powders including a highlighting powder, eyebrow powders and wax, as well as nine eyeshadows. The palette also includes a double-ended brush for your eyes and Get The Look cards which feature T-link technology that when scanned with your phone, it will activate how-to videos. Pretty awesome, right?!

I did some swatches for you guys so you can see the colours in more detail. The eyeshadow colours are very pigmented and I love that there is a variety of them, you can create multiple looks that you can wear day or night. The contour shade is the perfect taupe colour (not orangey compared to other contouring powders). The shimmer highlight is amazing, it’s actually my favourite from the whole palette. It’s a subtle colour that gives you the perfect glow.

The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the eyebrow wax, maybe I am not applying it correctly but I find it really sticky and gunky. If you have this palette, let me know what you think of the eyebrow wax in comments below. Do you have any eyebrow wax/gel recommendations?

Below, I did an easy smokey eye look using the eyeshadows from palette. I used Vanilla as the base, Champagne on my lid, I blended Totally Nude and Stripped in my crease and Sumatra in the outer corner to smoke out my look. I lined my inner lash line and applied some falsies to complete the look. I know you can’t see the eye makeup that clearly in this photo as I used my iPhone but if you guys are interested in a more detailed makeup tutorial let me know in comments below!
